How I Rationalize Things

Life is about making choices. Every day, we have the choice to go to school or work, the choice to put in effort, the choice to punch someone in the face that you don't like.

But do we ever stop to think WHY we make those choices? Is is a spontaneous decision or did we think through it?

Yesterday in English, we turned in road maps that would map out what we want to do in the future. On mine, the path out of high school met with a crossroad. On each deviating road, I wrote something I wanted to pursue after school. Two of the five roads were "mechanic" and "military".

Now, you may be wondering why I'd want to be a mechanic or in the military . The answer is somewhat simple really, and it's how I make a good portion of my decisions. The reason that these two options are on my list of career choices is that they'd both offer me skills that I would need in a zombie apocalypse.

I'm completely serious. This is how I rationalize everything. Should I wear sneakers or sandals today? Sneakers; I'd be able to run from zombies. Should I watch 'Cake Boss' or 'Apocalypse Man'? Apocalypse Man; this guy offers great advice about siphoning gas. How fast should I walk on my way home from the bus stop? Speedwalk; zombies shamble and wouldn't be able to catch me.

I'm probably the only one with this thought process, so when shit starts to go down, everyone will be flocking to me for help. Which is okay, as long as everyone brings their own supplies. DAMMIT I did it again.

All of this proves that I have been seriously thinking about this topic.
